MOTO GUZZI - ELECTRONIC IGNITION SYSTEMS

The most modern and best quality electronic ignition systems we have found for Moto Guzzi's (yes, in the world...) are made by Silent Hektik in Germany. We have used them for racing, road bikes that have dead CDI's that are unobtainable, Guzzi rebuilds etc. etc. and were so impressed, that following lots of enquires from customers we have offered for sale direct from stock in the UK for the past 8+ years. These systems are a couple of generations on from Boyer type systems originating from the 1970's or Piranha/Newtronics type systems dating from the 1980's and INCLUDE a modern set of top quality Silent Hektik coils in the price. They also offer a full modern replacement to Moto Guzzi's slightly odd ignition systems fitted to some models in the 1990's (e.g. 1100 Sport carb. and 1100 California's) and uniquely a separate kit is also available specifically for twin plug set-ups.

The kits we supply replace the complete ignition set-up on a Moto Guzzi and come ready-to-fit including coils and all wiring. They are also adjustable for rev-limiter and advance/retard curve via simply turn buttons on the CDI unit. The kits can be used to replace the points set-up on a Moto Guzzi, replace any electronic ignition set-up already fitted and will allow the replacement of a fuel injection system on a Guzzi with carburetors. Silent Hektik are not the cheapest, but we are confident they are the best quality and therefore value-for-money available.

NOTE: the coils are specific, as the ignition curves are set to operate with these coils OHM.

Also from 2023, the new Silent Hektik sensors on the alternator are fully automotive grade with a -40° to 125°C range. Normal optical sensors are typically only 0° to 85°C and therefore not approved for installation on internal combustion engines !

Different kits are required depending on the specific model Moto Guzzi alternator fitted, primarily there are three kit types ("B" type, "D" type or "S" type). Each set-up is specifically developed to work on the alternators and charging system fitted to Guzzi models/years made either by Bosch, Ducati or Saprisa. The ignition curve is fully adjustable and can be minutely adjusted to be absolutely perfect for the particular bike.
